RETREAT FAQ's:
How do I get there?
The most economical way to get to the St. George area is by flying into Las Vegas and then renting a car or taking a shuttle to your destination (St. George Shuttle and Salt Lake Express are two companies that provide transportation between Las Vegas and St. George). PLEASE NOTE THAT LAS VEGAS IS IN A DIFFERENT TIME ZONE. Perhaps the most convenient way to get to St. George would be flying into the St. George Regional Airport. (Red Mountain Resort does offer a shuttle pick up service from the St. George Airport through 6pm in the evening).
What should I bring?
Weather in late March will likely be sunny and cool with high's in the mid 60's. Bring comfortable clothes and shoes for hiking and yoga. In the mornings and evenings you may want a coat (and even a hat & gloves). For the reception, feel free to be as fancy or casual as you'd like! Depending on the weather, you may want to bring a bathing suit, though Red Mountain Resort may be transitioning to their outdoor pools in the Spring and it may be a bit chilly for swimming. Other items to consider bringing: a journal & a water bottle (the climate here is very dry and you'll likely need to drink more water than usual).
How do I claim CME?
This experience is powered by CMEfy – an AI-powered platform that directs learners along a pathway to capture reflections at the point of inspiration, point of care. Clinicians may earn Category 1 CME/CE credit via ReflectCE, the accredited activity portal. Learn more at reflectivepractice.fyi.
What ADA & other accommodations are available?
Certain retreat activities do require moderate fitness levels & mobility. Not all areas of the Red Mountain Resort are ADA accessible. Let us know if you have special needs and we will do our best to accommodate them.
What's the cancellation policy?
Cancellations made at least 90 days prior to the start of the retreat will be refunded the full registration amount minus a nonrefundable $250 administrative fee. No refunds will be granted after that date for any reason (unless due to extreme and unforeseen circumstances the retreat does not take place). In that case, registrants would be refunded the registration fee minus the nonrefundable $250, but would themselves be responsible for any other related costs or charges. Red Mountain Resort is a separate entity and has its own cancellation policy. We are not responsible for fees or charges associated with cancellation at Red Mountain Resort.
Where else should I visit while I'm in Southern Utah?
If you have additional time in the area, there are several beautiful parks and canyons within reasonable driving distance. There's Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon-North Rim, Coral Pink Sand Dunes (sand sledding available), and even skiing at higher elevations (Brian Head Ski Resort). Other places of interest include Kayenta Arts Center, Tuacahn, and more. If you happen to still be in the area, the St. George Art Festival will take place the weekend following the retreat. Recommended restaurants include Aubergine Kitchen (Healthy/Vegan/GF), Mixed Greens (Healthy/Vegan/GF), & Irmita's (Mexican), Red Fort (Indian), Handel's Ice Cream Parlor is pretty amazing too! Downtown St. George has cute shops along main street and several historic buildings near downtown can be toured to learn more about early pioneer settlements (St. George Tabernacle, St. George Temple Visitor's Center, etc.).
Are spouses welcome at the retreat? Yes, spouses may register and attend! We'll even have one session led by physician spouses on Healthy Family Relationships! Spouses may purchase a regular ticket to participate in the full retreat or the "spouse - excursions/meals only" option. There's also plenty to do for families in and near Southern Utah if you have a spouse and kids who want to stay at the resort but do their own thing :)
